The Emperor

In popular culture we know him as Big Daddy, the Big Kahuna, the Big Cheese, the paterfamilias and the Chairman of the Board.  But in the the language of archetypes and the tarot he's the Emperor, the fourth card in the Major Arcana.  He symbolizes ultimate authority, social structure and fathering.

Here's what to explore in your readings:

-How is your relationship with your father?

-Are you a father?  How are you a different dad from your own?

-Are you comfortable with male authority?

-Were you rebellious when growing up?

-Do you shy away from positions of authority?

-Are you a leader?

-Do you overemphasize the need for "correctness" and conformity?

-Do you tolerate difference?

-Are you experiencing a power struggle either at work or personally?

-Would you benefit from some more boundaries and limits in your own life?

-Do you need to have the last word?
