Today's Tarot: Page of Wands

The question to ask yourself  is when was the last time you felt like a child? Today is the day to "loosen up", so to speak, and look at the world with an uncynical eye. Drop all affectation. Follow your heart. Embrace your passion. Perhaps it's time  to make that change or take that risk you've been thinking about.

Today's Tarot: Six of Pentacles

It's time to think about what you have and what you don't. It's all about power, resources, money and wealth.  Where do you stand? Exactly which end of the receiving stick are you on?  We all need to explore the meaning of power/authority and dominance/submission in our lives. Have you thought about what is missing, or what you think you are missing,  from your life?  Have you examined what is important in your life? Just how attached are you to these ideas and feelings?  Remember that "all that glitters is not gold" so try and relinquish those roles and behaviors which prevent your heart center from "shining".

Today's Tarot: Three of Swords

More bad news. Betrayal.  A "knife to the heart".  And, yes, that "hard rain is gonna fall", so be prepared.  As my friend Terah might ask "what can you do to begin seeing the pain as a starting point toward healing?" And, as a wise teacher once asked me, can you see the pain not as a punishment but as a message from your spirit guides telling you it's time to make another choice for yourself? What you are doing is not working, so stop it! By putting yourself at the receiving end of some more powerful force or entity (at least it is in your "head") makes you a victim.  Not a good place to be.  Instead, galvanize all that energy which has been expended on the pain and direct it towards thinking about how you can change in relation to the source of the pain. How can you react differently to it? Only by decreasing our reactivity and pulling back can we create possibility and choice. It's time to turn your focus inward on yourself and become your own agent of change. Only then do you get your power back.

Today's Tarot: Five of Wands

It's not going to be a pleasant day. The Five of Wands symbolizes frustration and conflict. You are in the thick of  whatever that may be which is contributing to your struggles. Things are most definately "out of whack". No consensus. Too many diverse opinions. Who's in charge? Where's the solution admidst all these competing voices? The number five symbolizes "movement" and "action" so there will be nothing static or stationery about today. Anticipate a "back and forth" dialogue with others and within yourself.  Don't expect resolution.  You're not there yet.

Today's Tarot: The Empress

She represents the third card in the Major Arcana.  On the most obvious level, the Empress symbolizes "motherhood" and "abundance". In readings she is associated with "pure passion" and reminds us that it is through our passion and love that we obtain what a friend refers to as "heartfelt" knowledge.  The Empress relates and responds to the world through her senses which is a never ending source of delight and inspiration to her.

Questions to ask yourself today:

-How is your relationship with your own mother?  Does it need some work?

-What was her relationship with her mother?

-Are you a mother?

-Do you want to be a different kind of mother than your own ?

-Was your mother passionate and warm?

-How has your relationship with your mother effected your relationships with other women?

-Are you getting the nurturing you need?

Nine of Pentacles

This card depicts a mature and dignified woman standing amidst her garden laden with fruit and her nine pentacles symbolizing abundance, plenty and material wealth. On her gloved arm perches a falcon whom the ancient Egyptians associated with the sun and all celestial deities. The falcon also represents freedom, liberty and intelligence. The Nine of Pentacles may also symbolize the "career woman" or the "professional woman as pentacles, of course, symbolize finance and the physical world.  She possesses confidence, poise and grace. Her world is safe and secure. In Chinese numerology the number nine symbolizes an "exulted status" and "stature" which clearly this woman exemplifies.

Questions for a reading:

-Do you know or work with a "nine of pentacles"?  Do you admire or envy her?

-Do you aspire to be a "nine of pentacles"?

-How would you need to be different in order to obtain the wealth and success you desire?

-If you have achieved great success, are you dissatisfied and longing for something more?

-Does your success isolate you?

-Are men intimidated by your success?

-Are you feeling trapped by your success?

-What sacrifices have you made on your road to success?

-How has your success helped others?

King of Pentacles

In an emergency, he's your man. He's got it all. Competence. Reliability. Composure. Intelligence. He symbolizes all the positive attributes associated with the earth's energy. And if that weren't enough, he's entrepreneurial as well. He's amazingly adept at making money.  He approaches any new venture with enthusiasm and gusto.  His self-confidence is contagious. This king is a real mensch.

Questions to ponder:

-Can others depend upon you?  Are they too dependent?

-Are you successful at work?

-How is your self-confidence?

-Are you materially satisfied but spiritually unfulfilled?

-Are you responsible?

-Do you follow through on your commitments?

-Are you enterprising?

-Do you work in finance?

-Do you recognize opportunity when it arises?
